Latest walkies news - 11/10/08
Today has been great!
Because it was weekend we were allowed to sleep in mum and dads bedroom. We slept on the floor most of the night but George must have jumped on the bed early morning, so I decided to do the same.
Watching out for rabbits and squirrels on our walk.
When we got up to go for walkies, dad came with us as well. He's been busy lately, so it was great when he said he was coming too. We love it when we all go together, one big family.
We went on our walk in the fields and half way round we saw our friends BJ and Monty the Cairn terriers. Mum, dad and their dad had a chat while we had quite a long play. BJ barked at me I think I upset him, I don't usually, then we went on our ways.
Me and George having a well earned rest. It's a dog's life guarding the garden.
When we got home, we went in the garden and mum got all the grooming things out. I couldn't wait, I was running round her ankles saying 'me first'. Mum said, 'we'll do mardy bum first, perhaps that'll help'. When it got to my turn, I let mum shave, trim and then bath me. She said I was a really good boy and kept kissing me, when we had finished, I got a treat. First I helped dad digging, then I helped mum in the front garden (on my own) George didn't see me sneek out with her. I've got to be really good in the front garden because there isn't a fence or gate. I could tell she was really pleased with me. I even saw the weimie in the garden 3 doors away and never went out of the garden.
Mum has groomed us twice now and I like it. She says I'm well behaved.
George has to climb between the bars on this stile. I leap over but when it was very wet I slipped and winded myself against the middle post because I was running so fast. Mum rubbed me better.
Mum took us out on our own in the afternoon because dad was busy again. After a while she put us on our leads, then we noticed Benson the boxer. Mum said if we behaved ourselves we could go back off, misbehave and we wouldn't go off again. We sniffed, then walked together for quite a while. Next we saw an angler, who I think thought he'd been ambushed when all three of us arrived. Then we saw Benji the springer spaniel. Mum told us off because we barked at him but we had a sniff and we all walked together. Mum said to the man, she was really pleased that all four of us could walk and play together. Then the others went on their way, we were all happy we had made friends, had a play and walked as one big pack. I think mum was happiest and couldn't wait to tell dad when we got home. I think it earned us some brownie points too.

George is a big snitch! Dad took us for a walk today and to finish off he walked us to meet mum from work. We were all surprised when she came out of the doors and gave her a big fuss.
When we got home George ran into the garden and couldn't wait to tell mum that I had chewed the ear off her schnauzer statue. He ran barking, first at the statue, then to me pushing me about, then to mum. She soon twigged and I could see she wasn't very pleased. I pinned my ears back in embarassment. Luckily she didn't shout at me because they have had a stressful week and had some good news.
One day I'll get my own back on George though!
Saturday 25 October 2008
We enjoyed our walks today. We had a play with the giddy terrier in the park then walked on the footpath until dad picked us up in the car. I could have walked much further but mum promised us a good walk later.
Yes! She took us in the car to the reservoir. We were even allowed off our leads, which we haven't done for a while. When we came across some dogs, mum had a chat with the people while we tried to make friends. Scruffy the terrier was very friendly, in fact too friendly with me. I kept side stepping him. We did have a good play though. George enjoyed himself too.
We were so cosy cuddled up together, then we had a long cuddle from mum.
When we went home we had our dinner, then me and George curled up together in the basket. Mum said she knew it was because dad was late. He goes to the home football games but was going straight to his family's party after. Mum stayed with us and when she explained he would be home later, we snuggled up with mum on the sofa. We stayed their ages.
She took us for our late night walk and we were on our best behaviour. When dad came home we had more cuddles.
Friday 7 - Sunday 9 November 2008
After we'd been out with dad, we went in the car to meet mum then drove to the big pet shop again. There were loads of toys, food and chews. I got quite excited. When the lady tried the coat on me, it felt good. Mum said she liked them and gave the lady some money and when we walked back to the car, I felt so proud and held my head high. George stuck his heels in and wouldn't walk, he can be silly.
I think I look the bees knees in my coat.
Saturday Mum and dad put our coats on us and took us for a walk, they are lovely and warm. When we came back, they took them off because the weather had improved and we all got in the car.
When we got out of the car we got excited because we could smell all the schnauzers that were there. We had to wait outside the building and kept having walks round while mum and dad took it in turns to go in and look at the other schnauzers. We met a few schnauzers while we were outside but some were quite snobby, we just wanted to play with everyone. I'm glad we don't have to enter shows because they were constantly being groomed and weren't allowed to get dirty or play.
Sunday we went for several walks in our coats and went to a big market which was really busy. George barked at some people but I just walked by.
There were lots of great food smells and when we went to a stall with sausages George was trying to beg for food. I was hungry too but I waited till mum shared a spicy sausage with us all. It filled a gap.
Later dad took us to our grandparents and we wore our coats again. It kept us lovely and warm and dry. I don't know why George doesn't like them. I think I look really smart in mine.

I went to the vet today for my booster with mum. The vet said I was really fit and a perfect shape. Now I'm not being big headed but I knew that :-) Mum was well pleased though and I didn't think she'd fit her head through the door when we went out. George was a bit jealous when I told him but he'll get over it.
Friday 12 - Sunday 14 December 2008
After we all went for our morning walk in the fields, had a spot of breakfast and then helped mum and dad in the garden. Dad started getting boxes out of the loft, oh we're not moving again are we? He even let me have a look up there, all that space to play in. We all went outside and trimmed up the garden with lights. George kept chasing me, but he gets so rough, I went to sit on the porch. Afterwards we all went for another walk.
Saturday we all went for our morning walk, had breakfast and then mum trimmed us. Great, I'm going to look so handsome for Christmas, might even find a girlfriend. I got a bit bored though and mum told me off. I know she loves me really cos she cuddled me after. Dad took us for our afternoon walk while mum put a tree up in the lounge with decorations on it. I wanted to play with the balls but mum said I must leave them alone. She's such a tease.
Sunday meant more walks, including a walk to our grandparents. Then we snuggled up in the evening looking forward to Christmas treats.
