The Trentham Estate - award-winning gardens 

Dogs are welcomed into all areas of the gardens, lakeside, parkland and woodland, the only exceptions being the children's play area, barefoot walk and Capability Centre.

Dogs are welcome inside, and out, at Cadwaladers Cafe and also in the outside areas of the other eateries on the estate. To avoid having to take a muddy dog home, there is a Doggie Wash at Tretham Shopping Village - but remember to bring your own towel!

Dogs should be kept on a short lead at all times. Please remember to clean up after your dog, there are lots of bins on the Estate.

P.S. ...there are FAIRIES at the bottom of Trentham Gardens...

Dogs are very welcome at Croome You can take your dog anywhere on a lead around the park and lakeside.

There are areas where dogs are allowed off the lead 'providing there are no livestock in the area'.

Set up in 1994, the Birmingham sanctuary, which is in picturesque Sutton Park, offers donkey-assisted therapy to local schoolchildren with additional needs.

The Himalayan Garden & Sculpture Park 

A 20 acre woodland garden in a spectacular setting.

Dogs on short leads are welcome. Please clean up after your dog and ensure they do not cause a nuisance to visitors.

NOTE: The topography of the garden dictates that they are steep in places and some paths have many steps.

Sherwood Forest National Nature Reserve & Visitor Centre, 

Free self guided leaflets available in Visitor Information and reception. The Blue Trail - 45 minute circular path round the Major Oak. The Green Trail - takes about an hour The Red Trail - takes approximately two hourst. Suitable for all ages.

Dogs are welcome at Sherwood Forest Country Park but must be kept under control. Please clean up after your pet.

Dogs are welcome in gardens and parkland at Stowe, all year round.

Dog bins are provided throughout the gardens, plus there great places for a drink and good sniff around. Please keep your dog on a lead and picking up after it when in the landscape garden.

Dogs are very welcome on leads throughout the arboretum. "They must be kept on a lead except in the designated area in Gatehouse Field, and under close control at all other times. This still gives your four-legged friends 11 acres of space to run around. We also ask that owners clean up after their pets"

It is estimated that a dog accompanies at least one third of visitors to the countryside.
