Rescued in Provence

Ventoux

When we were in Provence in may we found Ventoux on the mountain. She had been abandoned and was wet through, curled up and totally in dispair. we got her into the car, took her back to the gite, dried her and ferd her. She was such a lovely gentle dog and it broke our heart to give her to the refuge the next day. We had no choice as we were flying home. I kept in contact with the refuge and it became clear that it was unlikely she would find a home. Apparently is is very common for hounds to be thrown out rather than go to the expense of feeding them. We have now arranged, with the help of a very kind lady that runs a kennels in Normandy, to adopt her. We will be collecting her on thursday and taking her to the kennels in Normandy to get her sorted out for her new life here.
