Meeting Max - March 2007
Meeting Max
Mum and dad kept talking to me about having a friend. Oh good I thought, I used to have a cat friend at my old house, didn't like to play like me but at least she was company. It was about three months later and one evening we set off in the car on a long journey. We went to Liverpool and pulled up outside a house, when the door opened I got really excited because I could smell another dog.
Me and Max love to romp around on the floor, we're great pals now.

We went in and another schnauzer ran up to me. I liked him, he wasn't as handsome, I mean he was grey and he's only two months older! We played while everyone talked, we had a small walk, back for another chat then we went back to the car. They brought Max in the car with us. Then he started to eat from my dish. Well I wasn't having that, so I snapped at him. Mum snapped at me and made us sit either side for the whole of the journey.
We arrived home and we played till the early hours. It was great having someone to play with at home. Then they put us in our baskets and went to bed. Then Max started crying, I wasn't too impressed I can tell you. I didn't cry when I had to leave my family, why did he? For the next few days, I didn't really talk to him, he was getting as much attention as I was. I was here first, does this mean they don't want me now?

Me giving Max a cuddle.
It didn't of course. I knew mum was getting upset, because I wasn't happy. Well he wasn't a bad old stick, so I started to give him the odd cuddle, Then I showed him how to play. (well it's taken some time but he's getting there). I realised I now had someone to play with, romp with, hunt with and most of all back me up when the big boys picked on us.
