April 2010
10 - 18 April 2010
Dad was off work this week and mum was off for a few days too. While dad was busy round the house we were able to play in the garden and keep an eye on his progress for mum.
We had lots of walks and met lots of friends, old and new. But on Thursday we went to Filey at the seaside. Apart from the long car drive, we had a brilliant time.
When we got on the beach we saw THREE schnauzers, two pepper and salt (girls) and one black (boy). They weren’t as big as us but they were friendly and wanted to play. We kept running round together and bumping each other then we’d stop for a rest. After a while Max nudged me to go for a run with him and we raced down to the sea. I think he was showing off because he can run fast. We had a chat about the girls then we ran back as fast as we could. Max was showing off big time now.
Then we walked the full length of the beach meeting the occasional dog and eventually came to some rocks. Max was naughty and pinched a biscuit from a family having a picnic. Mum and dad apologised and told him off, he does show us up sometimes. We continued along the rocks till will couldn’t go any further. Boy it’s tough walking on some of those rocks, mum struggled too and was worried about us hurting ourselves.
I saw two children having their photo taken by their mum and dad. They were sat on the rocks and I thought they might like me to join them. Afterall, everyone loves a schnauzer and mum is always taking photos of us. It seemed they didn't want me in the picture no matter how much I fussed them but they did fuss me back.
On the way back we saw the previous family pass us and the woman said ‘they call that dog Max’. The boy said ‘that dog stole my biscuit’. OH MAX! you do show us up, I pretended I wasn’t with him.
Later I saw a man with a football and began to run towards him. Mum and dad said ‘leave’ so I did, didn’t want to get into trouble like Max. Then Max egged me on to play with another football some people were playing with, well I couldn’t resist. Mum and dad told me off too. Even the man pointed out I only wanted to play and said I couldn’t even pick it up because it was bigger than me. WHAT? I’ll show him I thought. I picked it up and ran in circles, the man did look surprised but mum took it me and gave it back. Ohhh I only want to play.
Well we walked and walked, and I was getting really tired, mum said I think we better take them back now because I kept stopping for a rest. We went back to the car, and slept all the way home, had our dinner and slept some more.
