We gladly welcome four legged family members. We are one of the few museums to welcome dogs free of charge and as our car park gets the sun all day we would much rather you brought your dog in with you.

Ryedale Folk Museum, Hutton le Hole 

Ryedale Folk Museum is Yorkshire's leading open air museum. Set in a six acre site in the North York Moors with over 20 historic buildings including shops, thatched and timber framed cottages, workshops and a Tudor Manor House.

The museum covers 2,000 years of the history of Ryedale with collections of archaeology, costume, photographs, craft, tools and domestic equipment.

Dogs are more than welcome on a lead and can go in all the buildings.

Pet dogs are carried FREE on board our "standard" daytime service trains, except in the Bar & Buffet Car (Assistance Dogs excepted).

We ask, please, that you keep dogs on the floor, not on the furniture, and that your dog is on a short lead whilst on the platforms or the train.

Killhope, The North of England Lead Mining Museum 

Killhope is famous for its huge working waterwheel. You can experience the mineshop where miners lived, work as a "washerboy" looking for minerals and galena (lead ore).

Dogs are welcome to Killhope. However we respectfully ask that you keep them on the lead and under control while anywhere on site or in the car park. You will find water bowls near the picnic site – plus Killhopeburn runs through the site.

Dogs can go anywhere on site except Park Level Mine or in the cafe.

Runcorn, Cheshire 01928 569895 Dogs, on leads, are very welcome. We provide water bowls for dogs at both the museum and outside the walled garden cottage.

Although dogs are not allowed inside the walled garden there are extensive paths in the woodland and orchard surrounding the garden which are regularly used by dog walkers.

We ask all dog owners to please pick up after their dogs and provide a bin for this in the walled garden car park.

Dogs are very welcome but should be kept on a lead and accompanied at all times. They are allowed on trams but are not allowed into any buildings or into catering areas. Water bowls are provided at various places around the Museum. There are grassy areas around the Museum but please do not allow your dog to foul in areas where there are visitors.

The South Devon Railway, or SDR, is a seven mile former Great Western Railway branch line, built in 1872, which runs along the stunning valley of the River Dart between Buckfastleigh and Totnes.

We run steam trains with heritage rolling stock and offer a wonderful all day attraction for families and people of all ages. Dogs welcome at a nominal charge
