Studland Beach in Dorset - National Trust 

Studland Beach in Dorset is a wonderful place for dogs and owners to relax and have fun. There are three and a half miles of beach and plenty of dunes to explore.

Dogs are welcome at Studland but, for the enjoyment of others, restrictions are in place at certain times of year.

In Scotland we encourage responsible access to most areas of the country, including beaches.
All our award beaches will have areas near by, or zoned where dogs are allowed, as long as their owners keep them under control (not to scare small children, or eat people's sandwiches....), and they pick up their pets feaces and dispose of them appropriately.

Many of the National Trust beaches welcome dogs all year round. There are also a small number of beaches where there are restrictions in place during busy, or sensitive seasons for breeding wildlife.

The Hidden Hut - Porthcurnick Beach - Cornwall 

Both the beach and the hut are family and dog friendly. The bay is known for its safe, calm waters. There are free public toilet facilities on site.

Dogs are allowed on the beach all day, all year round.

Open March – Oct. 10am – 5pm. 7 days a week.

We are called The Hidden Hut for a reason. Finding us may turn into a small adventure…but be please be assured that the secluded location is well worth it.

Penrose Estate Gunwalloe and Loe Pool - National Trust 

Wooded country around Cornwall's largest natural lake. Loe Pool, the largest natural freshwater lake in Cornwall, is cut off from the sea by a broad shingle bar heaped up by heavy Atlantic seas.

The surrounding Penrose Estate is a mixture of rich farmland and woodland around Loe Pool, through which there are many paths to explore.

Danes Dyke Beach - between Flamborough & Bridlington  Dogs are allowed on the beach here throughout the year. There is also a Nature Reserve with woodland trails - dogs may be required to be kept on leads in some areas. It should be noted that there are some steep steps and / or steep walks. Bridlington Beach  Summer restrictions on the main beaches in summer but a large area to the south of the town - stretching for miles - is available for dogs and their owners. Please remember to 'Scoop the Poop' to ensure that beaches remain dog-friendly and safe for use by all.

 

Filey Beach  5 mile stretch of beautiful sandy beach. Although there are 'dog restrictions' during the summer months there's also a huge amount of beach available to walk dogs. Kiosk's along the sea front for tea/coffee food etc Please remember to 'Scoop the Poop' to ensure that beaches remain dog-friendly and safe for use by all.

 

Whitby Beach  Dog restrictions apply on the main south beach during the summer months but much of the lovely sandy beach to the north - all the way to Sandsend - is acessible to dogs & their owners! Please remember to 'Scoop the Poop' to ensure that beaches remain dog-friendly and safe for use by all.

 

Bamburgh Beach  Bamburgh Beach is a great place for dogs as there's not only the fantastic beach but there are also huge sand dunes for them to play on / in! Please remember to 'Scoop the Poop' to ensure that beaches remain dog-friendly and safe for use by all.

 

Bournemouth Beach  There are certain restrictions on some of Bournemouths beaches during the summer months but dogs are allowed "to the west of Durley Chine and east of Fisherman's Walk up to Hengistbury Head" during that time. Please remember to 'Scoop the Poop' to ensure that beaches remain dog-friendly and safe for use by all.

 

Weymouth Beach  The part that dogs are allowed on is flat and sandy with easy access to the water. However the area is only really about 200 sq. metres (maybe better suited to small dogs). There is a road next to the beach (the promenade) where you can park (pay & display). This beach suggested by site user Tim.
