About Us / How to use this site
After having considerable difficulty finding exactly the right dog friendly accommodation we, Ann Croft (that's me!) & Jenny Roberts (the technical minded one who I call on in moments of crisis!), conceived the idea of setting up this website for all those people who, like us, consider their dog(s) to be part of the family.
Our Aim
The aim of Dog Friendly Britain is to provide comprehensive information for dog owners whether you're at home, having a day out, or spending a few days, or even a few weeks, away from home.
Search for What You Want
You can search on a single category, such as Dog Days Out, and perhaps use the county you live in as the criteria to get a list of Dog Friendly places around & about you. Alternatively, if you're going away, try searching the entire site and you'll find Accommodation, Pubs & Dining, Dog Days Out, and much more. It could be that, like us, you'll want to visit somewhere such as the Eden Project - but not leave your dogs in the car - we solved this problem by booking our dogs into a local Boarding Kennel for just a few hours. Perhaps you'd like to take note of the details of a veterinary practice near where you and your dog will be staying; maybe you'll even jot down the details of a grooming parlour - just in case you end up with a very wet & muddy dog you wouldn't dare take back into your holiday accommodation!
Contribute
We hope you will want to contribute to the site by sharing your favourite Dog Friendly places with other dog owners - just drop us a line either by email: info@dogfriendlybritain.co.uk or, by snail mail: Dog Friendly Britain, PO Box 649, YORK, YO31 7ZL, giving as much information as possible and we will, hopefully, be able to add it to the site. You can also add details of any Dog Friendly events (not just dog shows - any event that allows dogs!) or photos of your own dog to our gallery. Simply click on the contribute button on any of the main directory pages and follow the simple instructions.
Have a Chat- Seek Advice
Our Forum is there for you to talk about 'all things doggy'. What breed of dog owns you? Do you have any hints or tips about your particular breed that you could share? ...just click onto that forum page and get typing!
Messing Around
We also have a games page - which you can use to while away the hours at work (no! pretend I didn't say that) and also e-cards which would make a great extra birthday card for any dog loving friend.
